The top section is the Factory setup (I labeled them) and the bottom is my setup. It's just an easy way to see how your other laps compared to your best. Then the second session I adjusted the camber and tire pressures. The first session I left the car settings default. So to test this I loaded up the Lotus 2 Eleven on Vallelunga Club (short track so I could get lots of laps recorded). He had to use iRacing to learn all the tracks he raced on across the US last year and all of his team members would use it as well since it has all the major US tracks laser scanned. He kept mentioning how horrible iRacing was every time he tried it. He's extremely impressed with the physics and the way the cars feel. He asked me if there was a way to view data after a session and that was the perfect opportunity to see if it was really possible to import AC data into Race Studio since he knows that software very very well.īTW I did want to mention that my friend says that Assetto Corsa is the most realistic driving simulation he's ever used before. Well one of my friends is a pro driver (he drove for bimmerworld last year in the Continental Sports Car Challenge last year) and he was planning on coming by today to spend some time in AC (on the Nurburgring) because he plans on going there to drive and potentially do a few races there. I always thought that was very interesting, but never bothered to look into it. The UI just isn't the greatest.Īnyways, I've been trying to study my real track data more and more lately and have always noticed that "Import NetKar Pro/Import Assetto Corsa Data" option in the file menu. AIM has a free downloadable software called Race Studio that seems very hard to use on the surface, but once you watch a couple of their videos and spend some time with it, it's quite simple. This is a key tool for professional drivers these days. But I've recently been trying to learn how to use data to help me get faster on the track. ![]() I've been data logging my track days for years mainly for telemetry data overlays on my track videos. ![]() Now keep in mind I'm not an alien in sims or the fastest guy at the real track, but I'm fast enough to post respectable times in both realms. But that's totally okay because we are lucky enough to have such a fantastic simulator called Assetto Corsa. I have 2 kids with a 3rd on the way and I just have less and less time to get out there. I use sims to fill in a lot more seat time between going to the track. As some of you know I spend time on real race tracks with my cars, just hot lapping and trying to become a better driver. ![]()
